    ArtWalk Livermore

A downtown arts exhibit and festival that benefits the Bothwell Arts Center

    www.ArtWalkLivermore.org

ArtWalk Livermore returns again to downtown on October 10, 2009, from 11-5pm.

A well-loved community event, ArtWalk draws upwards of 10,000 art lovers to the exhibits of 200 artists inside businesses and outside on the sidewalks and plazas of downtown Livermore. It draws people to walk, browse and shop creating a downtown arts district for a day while building a sense of community. Viewers enjoy a day filled with art, wine tasting at tasting rooms and wine bars, shopping, dining, live music in two outdoor locations, and more.

Artists interested in registering for the event should sign up as early as possible. Early Birds will receive a discount on registrations postmarked by July 15, 2009. Deadline for standard rate is August 15th.  Click here to download the registration form for Artists.

Participating Business, Booth Exhibitor (non-artists) and Sponsorship registration opens June 1, 2009 and forms will be up on the websites at that time.

Our website will start evolving over the next several weeks as artists sign up. To see a sample of what is to come, you can still check out our 2008 ArtWalk website including the on-line galleries at www.artwalklivermore.org.

As we continue to grow and strive to make the event even better, we need VOLUNTEERS to join committees for various parts of ArtWalk pre-planning and also to help during the day of the event. Please contact Linda Ryan ASAP if you are interested at lryan@BothwellArtsCenter.org or (925) 447-ARTS.

The Freedom to Create and a Place to Make it Happen

The Bothwell Arts Center serves as an arts incubator, offering affordable and rentable classroom, rehearsal, performance, event and studio rental space for artists, musicians, theatrical, acting, choral, and other individuals and groups with a cultural arts focus.

Since we opened our doors in late 2006, over 9,000 people have benefited from classes, workshops, performances and events at the Bothwell Arts Center, from children to adults.

Should you be interested in passing on your skills, there are several room rentals available, from the small visual artists’ classroom to the main auditorium. Overview:

The Bothwell Arts Center is the third component of the Performing Arts Center commitment to serving the entire Tri-Valley community. Through a generous arrangement with the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, LVPAC is turning the Bothwell Center into a home and arts incubator for the visual and performing arts. With space for artist studios, rehearsal rooms, classrooms and several small performance venues, the Center is serving as a much needed support facility for the creation of arts and cultural programs that enrich the lives of adults and children. The Center also provides meeting space for area residents interested in arts and cultural activities.
We do depend on fundraisers for a good portion of our budget.  Our main fundraisers are ArtWalk on the second Saturday of October, and an over-the-top Mardi Gras party we call New Orleans Bash at the Bothwell the Friday before Mardi Gras, generally in February.  Both offer significant exposure for sponsors, opportunities for volunteers and interns who want to get involved in event production, and a lot of fun for the attendees.

    Volunteers are always welcome.

    Location:

2446 8th Street in Livermore, formerly the Bothwell Senior Center of the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District
