Livermore-Amador Symphony Presents
A spirit of youth and adventure will reign at the Bankhead Theater, as the two winners of the Symphony's annual Competition for Young Musicians perform solos with the orchestra. Listeners of all ages will find Benjamin Britten's The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra the perfect preparation for one of the masterpieces of sensual orchestral writing; Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, a musical magic carpet ride inspired by The Tales of the Arabian Nights. Frank Shin is a senior at Foothill High School. Frank has studied the clarinet for nine years and is a student of Joseph Bonfiglio. A junior at Foothill High School, Curtis Kim has played the cello for eight years and is a student of Kyung Wha Kim.
