Livermore-Amador Symphony Presents
Livermore-Amador Symphony is proud to feature Concert master Kristina Anderson as soloist in two rarely heard musical gems, Beethoven's Romances for Violin No. 1 and 2. Mitchell Sardou Klein, Music Director of the Peninsula Symphony, joins the orchestra as guest conductor for Edward Elgar's Enigma Variations. The variations provide musical portraits of Elgar's friends, and include the much loved Nimrod variation. The program begins and ends with a sense of the theatrical. Samuel Barber's Overture for the play, The School for Scandal, combines rapidly shifting moods with beautiful woodwind solos. Tchaikovsky's Francesca da Rimini is a dramatic musical portrayal of condemned lovers in Dante's Divine Comedy.
