Enjoy an evening with a rich and varied repertoire, written for mixed strings, winds and keyboard. Members of the Laurel Ensemble have performed together for many years and their shared sense of musical adventure inspired them to form the ensemble. The name "Laurel" is based on the myth of the transformation of the nymph Daphne into a laurel tree. Like their namesake, the Laurel Ensemble is designed for flexibility, expanding and contracting their size and composition within each concert in order to play a wide range of music. The Laurel Ensemble performers include: Ann Lavin, clarinet; Jenny Douglas, viola; Sarah Holzman, flute; Christina Mok, violin; Lori Lack, piano; Krisanthy Desby, violoncello.
