Its name derived from creation mythology found in Native American Folklore, the Turtle Island Quartet celebrates the holiday season with their Solstice Celebration. A voyage through World Holiday Music, the concert explores with a hip, modern twist, the timeless music that has been an integral part of winter holiday celebrations for centuries. Winner of the 2006 and the most recent 2008 Grammy Award for Best Classical Crossover Album, the Turtle Island Quartet fuses the classical quartet aesthetic with contemporary American musical styles.
