LIVERMORE'S 2010 TALENT COMPETITION FINALS presented by the Bay Area News Group and the Rotary Clubs of Livermore give new and hidden talents an opportunity to take the professional stage and win $2,500. The variety of talents may include an opera singer or a comedian. Perhaps one will be a young pianist who can't reach the pedals. There might even be jugglers or magicians. There are two categories of competitors - 17 & under, and 18 & over. The winner of each category will take home $2500. This production will be directed by Carol Hovey, the Livermore High School performing arts theater manager. The two winners will be selected by a 3 judge panel including Dale Kaye, feature film and television producer, and Allen Larson, film/television producer, author and founder of the Los Angeles Actor’s Gym. Each finalist will have survived a preliminary round of competition judged by stage actor Michael Rice from Shakespeare’s Associates, Tiffany Henderson from Tiffany Dance Academy, film/television producer, author and founder of the Los Angeles Actor’s Gym Allen Larson, long time voice instructor Sally Dunlop and pianist Ronald Graham from the Graham Piano Studio in Pleasanton. In addition to the two $2500 winners there will be two “People’s Choice Award” winners selected by the community at large. Between the semi-finals on Jan. 9 and the finals on Feb. 28, community members can go to the Livermore’s 2010 Talent Competition website at www.LivermoresTalentCompetition.com to view the semi-final performances of the finalists and place an online vote. Also, at the finals competition, audience members will be able to submit text votes for each of the performances. The performance getting the most online votes and the performance getting the most text votes will each win the “People’s Choice Award”. Heather Quarterman from KKIQ's Hometown Mornings will again be the emcee for the evening.

All net proceeds from these semi-finals and the finals go to the Rotary Clubs of Livemore’s community grant program and your support will be greatly appreciated.
